SaleHoo

SaleHoo promotes themselves as a global directory of wholesale distributors, with a database reflecting several years' work searching for reliable wholesale suppliers and drop shippers. Membership to SaleHoo essentially gives you product and contact information for wholesale suppliers around the world.

While there's certainly no shortage of these wholesale supplier "directories" available on the internet, most are of questionable authority or quality. Contrary to this general conception, however, we found SaleHoo to be very legitimate. The directory is complete, comprehensive and searchable.

SaleHoo has suppliers ranging in size from manufacturers to wholesalers and dropshippers, with products in 75 categories, ranging from "jewelry", "clothing", "computers and electronics", "shoes and fashion" to the less commonplace "plumbing supplies", "strollers" etc.

Suppliers do not pay to be listed in the SaleHoo directory, and must meet certain requirements to be eligible -- most notably, there must be the provision for buyers to pay by secure methods. SaleHoo claim to be adding new suppliers to their database daily, and screening for out of date information weekly.

SaleHoo itself, regularly makes purchases from it's suppliers and this relationship is one tool they use to evaluate a supplier's performance. Each of the suppliers listed in the SaleHoo directory has been given a rating out of five stars, and there is the facility for members to also review suppliers they have used.

In addition to the supplier database, SaleHoo also provides information and tips on starting a successful home business marketing consumer goods through avenues like eBay as well as through other less obvious avenues. Much of this information will be appear to be common knowledge to many members, but there is a lot of information there for newcomers.

As far as support, SaleHoo provides 24 hour "live chat" support six days a week. Members can log in to the service and ask questions, particularly if they can't find a supplier for a particular product.

Membership to the SaleHoo database is a one time fee of $49.95. For that price you receive a lifetime membership, access to a database of suppliers from around the world, (including Australia, the UK and China), access to the members' forum and SaleHoo's own auction monitoring software, Auction Alert.

There has been some buzz on the internet that SaleHoo might be a scam. The view from inside the members area, however, gives no indication that SaleHoo is anything other than your typical online business. The directory seems legitimate to me. The educational material seems to be unique and the members forum has many other members posting. Inside looks ripe for doing a bit of networking with others.

At this time I do recommend SaleHoo.
